Dare I Begin Again???

There is so much to catch up on it seems overwhelming. I have to start somewhere though right? I still have to find my connector for my camera, it's in one of a million places but it will be found. I have to post some pictures soon or I'm going to find myself in hot water with my sweet sweet husband downrange. We have spent the past 5 days at my mom and dad's house unwinding, relaxing, sleeping in, making huge meals for about 15 three times a day, it has been great. The only bad thing is that Sawyer, Ellyn, and I have been sick. Despite that, we have had fun. I've just had a stupid cold but in some ways colds are worse because you still have to function. We have had tons of cousin and aunt and uncle time, which has been fun and exhausting. After we arrived in San Francisco and picked up our car we spent a day looking around, going to church, visiting the beach. The next day my mom flew in and we went to look at the housing the housing office had available for u...

Our Trip-E-mail to Mike if some of this doesn't make sense

Hey, I'm sorry. We got to the hotel at 9:00 last night and I tried to log in with the info. they gave me and it wasn't letting me and Ellyn was getting worked up and Sawyer was crying and I hadn't slept more than three hours in 48 hours, for real. That was the most exhausting thing I have ever done in my life. Two totally jam packed international airports, a whole new ball game. I am so lucky that Emily came in with me at Frankfurt. We were three hours early and we almost missed our flight. Lifts were broken, we were pushing a loaded jogging stroller and towering luggage cart up escalators or waiting forever for the lift that did work. We had to stand in three different lines and THEN someone (I had talked to about 4 different people with the dogs in their crate balancing on the jogging stroller right in my hand) noticed the dogs and sent us to yet another line where some American school trip was lined up and by now it is 45 minutes before our flight is supposed to leave an...

It's Going

We only have one more crazy day left before we board our plane. Then we will start all new crazy on another continent. Our poor movers were at the house until 6:45 last night after arriving at 7:45 yesterday morning. The day day before was a shorter day for them. Maybe they underestimated the amount of junk I have in my basement. You want to know what my idea of hell is? Moving, all day every day. I'm sure it's different when it is someone else's stuff. I hope it is for their sakes. So my cleaning lady came back at 6:30 (very nice of her). She was there until I think 8:30. We had wonderful help from the Abersolds and Sister Williamson. Elder and Sister Abersold and I went through and washed down walls (never use flat paint with kids) and filled in nail holes and separated out cleaning supplies etc... Victoria loaded up all my kids and took them through the drive thru at Burger King and then fed them on the lawn. Then she watched them while I swept out the garag...

Ready? Set? GO!!!!!!!... To Calfornia!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, don't choke. I am actually blogging! I feel,(and you probably too) like I haven't blogged in 4-ever. I love blogging but we have been busy. We have our flight scheduled for 9:45 in the morning... from Frankfurt. The train does not start that early, so luckily we have a good friend. Today is our last Sunday. I got a extra loaded peanut butter cup and a bracelet from my teacher. I was sad to leave her. I am so excited to see everyone, Luv Ya!!!!!

I'm Stalling, I'm Not Going to Lie

I have this terrible stupid cold and it won't go away. I wanted to sleep in this morning but I was awake at 5:30 coughing up a lung and blowing my nose. I think the neighbor's stupid dog woke me up. They went back to the states for like three weeks or maybe even longer and they have someone coming in and walking it and playing with it and, I thought, spending the night with it. However, no one was obviously there last night and the poor creature barked ALL NIGHT LONG. She really should be hoarse. So yesterday my friend April and I took the kids for one last trip to playmobil. I love that place. ALL of my kids love it and it's cheaper than going to a movie in the states. Jane thought I had gathered all of the swimsuits so she told me she had them before we left. Ellyn's new cute suit was on the steps to go upstairs. So... Sadie wore her new swim suit (they were all 50% off at the PX and we are moving to Cali after all)(can you do two parenthesis in one sentence...

I Want to Remember This

The other day we were driving away from the post office and Sadie asked if we could do something, I can't remember what. I said "maybe," and Sadie cheered. Jane said to Sadie "Mom didn't say yes," and Sadie replied "I know, mommy said 'maybe' and with mommy 'maybe' always means yes." Hmmm...I'll have to pay attention. I didn't know that. One more thing. I love going to bed to the sound of the dishwasher running, the dryer drying, and the washer washing. I didn't realize how much until I was putting the soap in the dishwasher and started trying to figure out if it would still be running when I went to bed. Maybe it's the sound of work getting done while I sleep.

Packing and Moving List

I have always loved reading the packing list for the pioneers before they crossed the plains. If it is fascinating to me maybe someday my list will be interesting to someone, maybe grandkids (what are DVDs?). OK, highly unlikely, but I need to make a list anyway so I'm going to post it. 1. Five outfits for each child (also, one skirt or dress and one pair of pants and one fleece) 2. two pairs of shoes for each child (wear another) 3. swimsuits 4. moving file (to include school records, household goods inventory, van paperwork, orders) 5. diaper bag (1 carry on) 6. purse (passports, immunization records, wallet, camera, make-up, addresses for hotel and car dealership) 7. collapsed dog crate and bag 8. extra camera battery and charger 9. garmin and charger 10. dvd player and dvd folder 11. bibs 12.
