On Vacation

Yep, that's what we're doing. We are playing with all of our aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins. We are snuggling new babies and going to the youth dance festival for nephews (ok, and Meagan because that was her calling this year). These families of ours just keep growing, in numbers and in age. Mike hits forty this year for goodness sake, Meags has gray hair, and I have wrinkles. Where does the time go? I swear it was just yesterday this past week that Mike and I had our first date and somehow 17 years have passed. We have teenagers and big kids and toddlers and babies and it is chaos and hard work and as fun as anything. Eighteen grandkids on each side, even Steven, how's them apples? How blessed we are with the love of our families. Brooke via iPhone

Quirky Kids

I love.... The way Sawyer's cheeks jiggle when he runs, his awesome action hero moves. The way Ellyn loves to curl up with her quilt and the way she bites on her bottom lip, especially cute with the new missing tooth. The way Sadie blows air out of the side of her mouth to flip her bangs out of her face. The way Jane stands in front of me and looks at the ceiling so I can be sure her mascara is even.

Is It Possible?

I can't believe the month of May whizzed right by and now it is already almost mid-June. I have a great deal of catching up to do but I will start with the present and work my way back I guess. Mike- is suffering from a terrible cold, fever, etc... and it's finals week. His last final was this morning but he still has a major project due on Monday. Two weeks ago he was set apart as the new High Priest Group Leader. I think that officially makes us old. He also just joined a softball team with a bunch of guys from our ward and Monterey Second Ward. I'm pretty sure he has officially guaranteed himself no free time for the rest of his summer. He still remains an amazing dad and husband and gives his family almost all of whatever time he does have. Me- since we might as well go in order. I am catching Mike's cold, but besides that I have to say that May and the first week of June was the most busy I EVER want to be in my life. I was able to do some creative activit...
