Over a Week Already

Update- the deal on the house fell through. I feel badly for the owners but I am relieved that we do not have to worry about a crazy, unsettling spring. Yay!!! I decided to quit my gym co-op this past week. Ever since we joined Sawyer has been sick week after week. I thought that maybe it was just his little body couldn't recover but he stayed healthy for the full three weeks we didn't do co-op during Christmas and until Ellie went back to school on the 10th. Four days back and he had a fever and a cold (two of the kids he had played with came down with a fever two days before). It's just not worth it, there are about 12 kids in one little room for an hour every day, germ city. Two friends and I are going to do a little pre-school three days a week. They are his little buddies in Sunbeams, Preston and Felicity, and I think it will be a really fun time. Our good friend that used to teach in an autism classroom is lending us some materials and we've come up with a...

Sadie keeps me humble, unintentionally and other goings on

Sunday morning- "Mom? You're making a big breakfast? What holiday is it?" After Mike jokingly smacked my leg while we were sitting on the couch and I yelped. "Mom, that must have hurt. Look (pointing to my thigh) your leg is already swollen." The past few weeks (since just before Christmas) have been a little unsettling in the housing department. The owners of the home that we are in have been trying to sell off and on for about 3 years. Well there is a couple that are seriously considering it and we have been requested to allow them into the home about 4 times now. Each time for about two hours. One of the times we were told it was just going to be the termite inspector. The house was somewhat straightened but Mike and I had both had the flu along with Sawyer and Ellyn was on day one of antibiotics for strep throat. I was in my p.j.'s (Sweats, so they kind of work) and I had brushed my teeth but not my hair. The buyers, the realtor, the inspector, t...

Christmas and the rest of the week

Christmas Morning- blurry from low light and my i-phone

The Allen children joined us in our tradition of torturing children with a full cup of eggnog and a piece of toast before going to see what Santa brought. We all lined up, youngest to oldest. Santa had such a good time bringing boy toys to our house.

Happy New Year!

My girls watched a Man V. Food that took place at the San Francisco Creamery. They had a dessert called "the Kitchen Sink." The girls told their cousins about it and all of the little yahoos were set on going and partaking when we went to San Fran. Unfortunately we ran out of time so we promised the kids we would make our own for New Year's Eve. Uncle Mike promised to do the shopping and he did not disappoint. Five different kinds of ice cream, chopped up candy bars, whipped cream, cookies, sprinkles, cherries, hot fudge sauce and caramel butterscotch sauce. It could have been gross but it was Heaven AND gave us all tummy aches! Setting next to a pint of Ben and Jerry's. The kids dig in. Hazel demonstrates what a real bite should look like. Sawyer shows us where his tummy hurts. An accomplishment that I am unsure whether or not to be proud of! The kids rally after their sugar induced comas to bang some pots and pans at midnight! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhon...

New Year's Day

Meags and I began the New Year with a ten mile run at 7 am New Year's Day. It was magical and beautiful. I have been waiting to take Meags on this route for almost two years. As we came down a hill and out of the trees we beheld a gorgeous, full rainbow. It was amazing. It was as if God was sending us our own personal message of hope and love- a year of promise waiting before us. How can you not believe in God's love when there is so much beauty in the world? Yes, I'm more sweaty. As always Meags is so much tougher than I am. I loved having my little sister here so much. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Janie modeling her make up expertise

Hazel got a "professional" make up kit and Jane received a Bobbi Brown make up book for Christmas from her Grandma Barb. All the girls had a great time "glamming it up" this week. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Sawyer is a Sunbeam!!!!

Is it possible? My last little one out of nursery. My kiddos are growing up. I don't know whether to cheer or cry. Perhaps a little of both. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
