This morning Jane left for Girls' Camp. She was so excited, completely packed by Saturday afternoon. I know she will have a blast. The three youngest and I are on our own, which can be a bit tricky at times. We were able to take Anne with us to the park today and we had a great time. I love Sadie's hair, this pic is just so Sade. I swear that most of my memories are snapshots in Polaroid. I'm pretty sure that is not the way the world appeared but to me my childhood is shaded in mustard yellow, rusty orange, and the tint from a Polaroid. I found an ap that recreates that look and I just couldn't resist- Sawyer loves to swing as high as I dare let him. This morning when Mike and I left for our run all we had to do was wake Jane up and put her in our bed. One by one the other three had joined us throughout the night, typical Stinchfield kiddo style. Sadie was our little miracle baby. Have I said that before? Maybe. But... she was and she still is a blessing from Heaven (sometimes, like right now when she is arguing with her sister, I have to remind myself of this). Sadie is a ray of sunshine with her white blond hair and her infectious smile. She keeps things lively, mostly in a good way:-). This month, as her baptism date quickly approached, we had the opportunity to listen to Sadie share her testimony and her knowledge of the gospel. She is a remarkable girl with a very sure knowledge of the love of her Heavenly Father. Before too much time passes and the memory is blurred I need to record the testimony that Sadie shared in testimony meeting at the beginning of June. In May Sadie bore her testimony for the first time in Sacrament Meeting. Mike has always been very strict about the children going up. He feels they really need to have an understanding of what they are doing before they bear their testimony. Hence, this w...

A summer tradition, picking strawberries and making freezer jam. With Geof and Darla and all of their cute little kids barely out of the house (tales to come), I realized that today was the only day I would not have Ellyn home (I know that sounds awful but Ellyn and strawberry patches require vigilant supervision). Off to Watsonville and a sunny, beautiful morning. Tonight there are about fifteen batches of freezer jam setting on my counter, it feels positively yummy! There were some muddy spots in between the rows. Sawyer was convinced he had poop on his sandals and wouldn't wear them. Sadie's shoes got sucked right off her feet. Most everything was dry just a few mud patches my kids managed to find. I told the kids to wear grungy clothes in case they got berry stains. I was the only one who managed to get berry juice on my pants- go figure!
