BREEZY FIELDS

I don't know what I would have done without my two amazing parents this week. It was so much work and I loved almost every minute of it. I have such good people in that mom and dad of mine. I will go into all the details later (hopefully). I do leave in two days to go see my TRUE LOVE. Home at last. Kind of. At least back in Germany, home in one month and 26 days. How demented my life must be that it seems to good to be true to think I will be with my husband again!

Julie Beck's talk was one of my favorites. I felt like she spoke of my life before and after I accepted the gospel into my life. Prior to accepting the gospel in my life, my husband and I were childless by choice. I really wanted to have children, but we decided it was best to wait until our student loans were paid off and we were financially stable. My husband and I didn't think that we could live off of one income that would support a family and the lifestyle we wanted. Shortly after missionary work by some dear friends, we accepted the gospel into our lives. It didn't take very long for us to see that our way of thinking was completely wrong, especially after seeing all the young LDS College Ward families who were not in the workforce yet and already had children of their own. We were amazed that they were younger than us and that the moms were all stay-at home moms. They had no income coming in other than their husband's student loans and a little financial aid, but...

Okay, just kidding. This is a never ending process. I am praying we are done by Tuesday. We are getting closer. It's like Tetris. However you spell it. Trying to fit everything in, but we are doing it. Mom is totally in charge. Does that surprise anyone? She is doing a fab job so I just pretend I'm 10 and have never moved and let her strategery work its magic. She and the girls took a little break tonight to go see a musical rendition of Narnia. I hope it's good. I'm off to unpack another box. If Sawyer will stop nursing that is.

or mom. She's the hardest working person on the planet, she can work anyone into the ground, and she is right here at my house. It is true, I am so relieved. While I have been able to do a great deal of unpacking it is going much slower than it has in the past. Something about 4 kids, three schools, soccer, young women, nursing, etc... So it is mom to the rescue once again. Geof, I am so glad you are an underpaid pilot. It's a life saver. Mom flew in today from Adam's house in Colorado (after watching their three yahoos for a week) and will be staying here until we are DONE!!!! I think Ellyn has finally fallen asleep. She took a Sunday nap. I didn't. I have to go cover her up with all of her blankets now and finally go to sleep. I AM SO TIRED. What's new right?

I received an e-mail on my phone a few hours ago and I noticed the date, I hadn't thought about it at all until then, but the last two hours as I have unpacked boxes and Sawyer has been the most amazing self entertained baby I have thought about it and thought about it. That's what you get to do when you are unwrapping a box of your daughter's treasures that somehow ended up in the living room and the box is too heavy to carry upstairs. Warning- this is strictly family history, journal type material, it could be long and boring to others and you may want to stop reading now. This date is filled with very sad memories, so much loss, so much tragedy. It also has a teensy bit of goodness wrapped up in it too. This is the day that, seven years ago and with hindsight- I had the first indication that four and a half years of infertility was over. It is the day that fear for my husband became my frequent companion. September 11th 2001, was the catalyst for the past seven year...

I LOVED TODAY and I will tell you why... 1. Ellie was happy ALL DAY LONG. She gave me kisses and hugs and she let me put her hair in piggy buns and she left them in. She let me cut her toenails. She walked with me to pick up Sadie from her class. She was good to her brother, she laughed, and smiled, and made happy sounds... all day long. 2. I found another bird in the house and I got it out. Say it with me... CABIN! 3. We bought more Pirate's Booty. Have you ever had Pirate Booty? You should, especially because it is so fun to say. Sadie: Mom, can I have Pirate Booty in my lunch? Me: Yes, Sadie, you can have Pirate Booty in your lunch. Did you want Pirate Booty for your snack as well? Sadie: Yes mom, I want Pirate Booty for my snack too. How much less interesting would that conversation be if say, it was about raisins? Pirate's Booty is sold at your local Costco. 4. I got a brownie mix at Costco. Now I can make the yummy brownies that we had the other night at ...

I really don't have too much to tell you about today but I will start and see where that takes me k? I met a cool couple in church today. They are young, have two little kids. He sought me out after Sacrament Meeting, they heard we had just come from Germany and that is where they are going in April. He is a Navy Seal and going to school at the DLI. We talked for a bit about Germany and then I went into the Mother's Lounge to nurse Soy Boy and his wife was in there. We talked some more. They are anxious to get as much info. as they can. It was nice to talk about Germany again, I miss it. But... it was another beautiful day here. We came home from church and ate leftover pasta and I unpacked more kitchen boxes. Do you know what is difficult? Trying to organize a kitchen and keep it clean after every meal. Basically that is true about the whole house. I unloaded a few pieces of crystal and put it on the shelf. I decided that if we don't use it while we are here ...

We have all of our stuff and now the work begins . Yesterday I stood at the top of the driveway with like 10 sheets of inventory taped to a folded box and as the movers unloaded they would call out box numbers and I would check them off. In between that the movers hauling it into the house would ask me which room this and that was going to, then they would look at me and say "you know how full that room is getting?" Yes, but what would your suggestion be? Leave it in the driveway? The advantage to not having your stuff for a few weeks is you can think through where things are going to go, how you are going to store them. That is, except when you forget about certain things. So our garage is stacked to the ceiling, so is just about every room in the house and the bikes are all out on the back patio. I know we will get it all figured out. Thank goodness the moms will be here this week. Also, thank goodness for my neighbor that came across the street at 1:15 and took ...

So this was our Labor Day Weekend in a nutshell. I asked my neighbor if she knew of any great swimming areas on a creek or lake so that Ellyn could be in the water. Her drummer was with her and he gave me directions to a little swimming hole. It is an empty lot, it's gated and it is only for people that live on this hill. So... that is what we did Friday, Saturday we went to the Outlet Stores (I forgot about the fact that it was a holiday) and bought warm, snuggy jammies for Sawyer, Ellyn, and Sadie and soccer stuff for Jane since hers won't be here for another few weeks. We did stop by an In and Out and that was de-lish-eouso! Sunday was Sunday, I know I will enjoy them more when Mike gets here and can help with Sawyer and Ellyn and we have furniture in our home. Monday we took a gorgeous drive along the coast to Big Sur. We went into the state park and drove through the camping area and circled all the sites on our map that we liked so we can call and reserve them in...
